Meet Tammy
First, let me say WELCOME to Lights of Hope~ Candles for Kids! I'm glad you have found me!
In the Summer of 2008, I decided to embark on an amazing journey and the beginning of my Lights of Hope~ Candles for Kids.
Learning the art of candle making and opening my business was over a two year process for me. My 100% soy wax candles represent some very special children, as each candle has been named after a precious child who has battled cancer at some point in their life. I am constantly guided by the inspirations of these extraordinary children and am honored and blessed to be sharing them with you through my candles. I thank all their families for allowing me this honor, it truly is a labor of love.
Lights of Hope~ Candles for Kids donates part of its proceeds to benefit Childhood Cancer organizations. Since 2012, I am so proud to have donated over $4,255.00 to the Four Diamonds Fund in the fight against pediatric cancer.
My inspiration has come from my oldest son Tommy, who at 17 years old on November 19, 1998 was diagnosed with t-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. As a devoted athlete and an honors 12th grade student, his life quickly changed from being a senior in high school to fighting cancer. He fought and sacrificed so much during this time, but did it all with much growth, courage and determination. As we traveled this most difficult road, the inspiration that Tommy had given and shown us each and every day was our survival through the entire journey. I am so proud and beyond blessed to say today ... my son is a Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist. His life has truly come full circle.
My life is not complete without the rest of my beautiful family! I've been married to my husband Thomas, my love for almost 40 years. We have been blessed with two other sons, Matt and Adam, with whom have always given me more than enough blessings and extreme pride in the loving and compassionate young men they exemplify.
Since 1998, childhood cancer has been such an important part of my life and of my soul. I still cry for the innocence of life we've lost and those yet to come, which everyday breaks the core of my heart. But, I will always continue to HOPE for what is yet to come. I pray for our children who courageously battle these horrendous cancers every day and I celebrate their growth through their endless determination and strength. They as children, give us all Hope.
With Love, Wishes and Hope always~ Tammy
